Sand Printing

In early 2019 Printed Sand Solutions was launched to support the UK foundry industry with a fast turnaround 3D sand printing service for moulds & cores.
Managed by a team of engineers with 30+ years of combined sand printing experience, the dedicated West Midlands facility is now fully operational and has supplied components to many foundries across the UK and Europe.
The service is ideal for rapid prototypes as tooling is not required so customers benefit from reduced costs and lead times compared to traditional foundry processes. It is also suitable for production volumes for many applications due to the large 1,260 litre build bed. Hybrid moulding processes can further increase the viability of higher volumes as 3D printed moulds and/or 3D printed sand cores can be used in conjunction with tooled items.
3D sand printing offers many other benefits including a high dimensional accuracy and design freedoms such as undercuts, complex one piece core assemblies & multiple design configurations are possible.
The furan bonded sand is compatible with many existing foundry processes and materials including most grades of iron, steel and aluminium.
